Going from seperated to divorced

My husband and I have been seperated for 2 years now. Neither one of us has done anything legally. We have no property disputes and we agree on all child custody and support issues. I contacted legal aid in my home state of New Jersey and they told me that this is considered no fault divorce and all I need to do is sign the papers. Is this true or do I need to file for legal seperation and wait another 18 months. The person I spoke with said N.J. just takes your word for it. I need closure on this relationship and will appreciate any advice.Thanks!
