Question
Help! Got remarried and later found out case never closed on divorace from ex-wife separated for 10 yrs+ and now in bad spot! As now considerd bigamist (ahhhhh!) Need houdini to help get out of box Please!!!! Only constructive answers please! I'm no Rick rock oh well you know!.....

To be convicted of bigamy, you have to know or reasonably should have known you were still married.

Go back and finish the divorce, then remarry your current spouse. Draw up a simple "pre-nup" agreement saying that you two thought you were married 10 years ago, and all property acquired since then is to be considered community/joint property.

Call an estate planning attorney and ask if *******y is a bar against inheritance if you have kids. You may have to legally acknowledge the kids or something. Make a will NOW setting forth that you separated 10 years ago and the ex gets nothing.

Did you check to see if your ex finished the divorce?
