Help needed for summer visitation

My husband's ex agreed to dates for summer visitation so we bought an airline ticket. She is now saying she will not put 9 year old on airplane alone. Can she do that? The child is in Texas and we are in Tennesseee? We need help immediately! If we have to file a contempt charge it will have to be soon or we will miss summer visitation all together!
