Question

I have paid child support through garnishment of my Military retirement check. This child turned 18 in September, and the garnishment was stopped. Now, I find out that the "mother" has filed a petition to have the support re-instated, claiming that this child has returned to high school after being a "drop out" for the last 3 years. I live in Indiana, they live in Kentucky. Can anyone tell me anything about a situation like this? He has actually never lived with his mother. Her father has provided all of his care, etc. even tho she continued to recieve the checks. Thanks!

You mention his mother and her father.. so who are you ? Can you prove that the child does not live with the mother ?

LB....it sounds like his mother is the biomom and her father is the biomom's father, the son's grandfather.

My response:

LB - - I think our writer made a Freaudian slip. The writer, I believe, is the stepmother, writing in the First Person for the bio-dad. But then, toward the end of the post, does a "change up".
