I homeschool in Missouri, and find it is the best thing for my child. In Missouri, you have to notify the state when the child turns 7 that you intend to homeschool. I 'm not sure what the state of Kansas requires, however, there is a web site you can go to that will answer all your questions, plus give advice, lesson plans, support and provide you with the legal answers you seek: www.gomilprtas.com/homeschooling/regional/Kansas. Also, www.homeschooloasis.com Good luck, you are doing the right thing for your child. Should you have any more questions, please feel free to email me

There was a typo in that email address: www.gomilpitas.com/homeschooling/com/regional/Kansas. That is an i after the p, not an r.. Also, if you have aol, go to families, then search under homeschooling; a wealth of resources. You may have to notify the Superintendent of your school district, as to the fact you are withdrawing your child and will homeschool. I pulled my 20 year old out of his high school in his Junior year and homeschooled him, and also have a daughter who just turned 6. Have been homeschooling her for the last two years and plan on continuing to do so for the rest of her education. WarmBlondeTen@aol.com
