we are in Arizona. Please anyone have any advice? Will she be made responsible for any of the back welfare if we can prove she lied about her income and financial situation? We are looking at 3 years of back welfare we will owe plus support and future support. We don't have a problem with the future support, but do have a problem paying for her lies. She is saying she won't go to the court now, she changed her mind. But it is the state that is filing the case because of the involvement of welfare dollars, so there is nothing she can do about it. She wanted this, and now we all have to face it.

IAAL? Any advice??

My response:

No one can make your husband pay anything merely on the woman's word. It sounds to me that she's looking for a scape goat, and "tag, your husband's it." She probably has come to the realization that your husband isn't the baby's father, has lied to Welfare, and they have her backed into a corner now that they want a DNA test. She's running scared.

However, just for your husband's peace of mind, and since you have said he would take care of the child if it's his, go ahead and have him take the test. At the very least, he won't spend his days wondering "what if."

Thumbs up

I'll go ahead and post the info. right here, that way you won't have to waste any time. David Guzman is an excellent attorney whose rates are very competitive. His address is 4445 E. Holmes, Mesa. Phone # is 654-3535. I need to find the other attorney's address and phone number. I'm going to post this, then come back on with the other info.

Michael Shew is also great. His rates are more expensive, however. The address is 320 E. McDowell Rd., Suite 240, Phoenix. 602-254-8195. Hope this helps some! Good luck and keep us posted.
