My response:

Okay, I did. I didn't much like it, but I did, because you asked. I've have a real difficult time with things religious (when mixed with legal problems), and an even harder time when it comes to the safety of children; e.g., abuse cases. Children, like your sister - - even though she's in her 30's - - should always be protected, and sometimes, even from themselves. I find stories like yours extremely distasteful. It's not your fault, however; you're merely reporting the story, and you're having difficulty with it also - - very understandable. It may do you well to seek some counseling for the mixed signals this is sending to you, and to gain some real insight for yourself in handling this situation from an emotional standpoint. You never have to agree with the situation, but she is your sister and you need to come to terms with her.
