I've been divorced for three years and as part of the MSA I Quit Claimed the property over to my ex and the court recognized my ex as being the sole responsible person for the mortgages. My ex has since remarried and had a child however, my name is still on the loans. If something were to happen to my ex what legal recourse do I have against the new spouse for ensuring the loans are paid? Can I demand to be removed from the loans? If not will the Mortgage Company recognize me as the legal owner? This is taking place in Southern California. Thanks to anyone who can shed some light. |
