| Hi board family....just received a certified letter from daughter's ex that demanded copies of school registration papers and copies of shot records. He said that in the temporary agreement that he is able to obtain these records. My thinking is that the school has the registration papers and if he indeed has permission to retrieve the shot records, why ask us? How should I answer the letter? Short and sweet? ie: Health records can be obtained at: School records can be obtained at: I personally think he is just stirring up stuff and we have found we have to be very careful because of the gorilla lawyer he has but I know I have to answer the questions some way. Any suggestions? |

Since 1-3 do not apply, and 4 appears to, I would suggest you inform him in writing of the relevant names and addresses (and phone #'s if you have them). It's usually better to appear as cooperative as possible with out putting yourself out TOO much. Perhaps you could toss in a line referencing why your sending him the address (according to Section __ of our temporary agreement, I am sending you the addresses of the following persons as per your request). End your letter on a cooperative note stating that if he needs any additional information regarding your child(ren) feel free to contact you. On the other hand, if you actually have copies of the relevant information, you could always send it direct to him along with the addresses. This would be extremely cooperative and if you include the relevant contact information you probably would not have to deal with him on this specific issue for a while. Good luck! Tig |

If that place refuses then he will have to go to court to force them.. as long as you do not oppose or inform the place not to hand over records then you are ok. If he is asking for something that only you have a copy of, then yes, send him it. Also with a note that next time he asks he should include a return envelope with stamp ![]() |

| My point being that this was a temporary agreement and all Hell could break loose between now and when a permanent agreement is reached. The more cooperative she appears now, (as long as it's not actually putting her out) the better she looks to other parties. After you have a permanent agreement feel free to ask for a SASE and a processing fee! ![]() Tig |
