My X <not husband> and I have a child that he has NEVER supported, I am now married, wanting my husband to adopt "our" son.

My sons FATHER, signed paternity papers at the hospital.... 3.5 years later joined the military, signing a paper stating that he DID NOT HAVE children.
Would this not be against miliatary law, and if so what are the punishments?

We are now trying to get him to sign away rights in Alabama, so that my husband can adopt our son, he has not seen my son in over 3 years, sent him the papers, he says he has to think about it?!?

What can we do? Can we get back child support even if child support was never established, if so how far back? How hard it is to prove abandonment?

Thanks so much
