| In 1996 a friend of mine passed and opened an account in my daughter's name. My daughter is 10 years old. I found out recently that although the account is in my daughter's name, there's also another adult on the account. When I called the banking institution to get information on the account, they couldn't five me any information because I am not listed on the account. And I don't know who this person is that is on the account or how to contact this person. How would I be able to gain access or found out any information on this account and remove the other person. Please Help! |

You cannot substitute your name for the Account Trustee. Apparently, your daughter has a benefactor who will "show" him or her self when your child is at least 18, and bestow the money at that time. You can never touch the money in that account, or find out any information about it, so you may as well forget about - - and just be thankful and glad that your daughter will have money when she's old enough to receive it.
