| I received a divorce from a Japanese National in a Texas court. In the final decree, there was a money judgement for a large sum of money granted to my ex-wife. There are no kids, I gave her everything. I set her up in a new house and have already paid her almost 20% of this sum. She is very wealthy and does not need this judgement. The reason it is there was because I am not rich and she wanted to punish me. To sum up: How can I get rid of this judgement. If I can't, what will happen to me if I stop payment? Thanks |

| It would help someone to answer if you could explain why you 'gave' her so much if she was wealthy enough to be able to support herself. In answer to the question.. if you do not pay, she can drag your butt into court and have a judge explain to you the finer consequences of not paying.. including, but not limited to jail time. You will then also be made to pay her legal costs for being forced to pursue that course of action. [This message has been edited by usdeeper (edited August 07, 2000).] |
