I'v owned a home w/my mother for 7 yrs. I have paid 75% of all the bills. Did 100% of all improvements (of over $100,000.) and performed 100% of all the labor. She in turn has put up the down payment. Agreement being that I would do the improvements (including build her an addition, the same size as our living space) and pay her half of the bills which came out to about $1100.00 a month, until my half of the down payment was paid back. Then we were to renegotiate the terms. This has long happened and no renegotiating came about. Again this is my mother, so I didn't push it, and wasn't worried about it. WELL, my brother and I have had a huge fight and my mother has now taken me out of her will and is giving my brother her entire half of the estate. This was throughly talked about how my inheritance would go, if we were to buy and build together and I was always reassured and told that I would get half of her estate. Now that I have built all of this and of course her equity, I can't imagine having to give it all to my brother. Is there any law suit I can file against her for a breach of verbal agreement, or something that I can do to stop this from happening? I have already tried to buy her out and offer her about 75% of the total equity, and she has refused. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I have retained a lawyer, but I was hoping that someone would have some kind of advice. Thank you in advance!

If you have retained a lawyer, why not ask them ? You must have had a discussion for you to have retained them. What did your lawyer tell you ?
