I am a law school graduate. What I offer is mere information, not to be construed as forming an attorney client relationship.
Your lawyer sounds lazy and doesn't sound caring at all. You have the right to change attorneys at any time for any reason. I suggest you find and hire a family law attorney sympathetic and empathetic to your needs and situation. Try attorneypages.com or call your state bar association.
Go to the freeadvice.com homepage and click on child custody at the family law main heading. You will read there it is possible to do...you have your lawyer file a motion to amend the original order based on the following circumstances/reasons:
1) the dad is really never there anyway...rarely visits and thereby is not abiding by the court order
2) the child would be happier do to the move...better resources, etc.
3) you are willing to pay for the visits, etc.
Hope this helps. |
