my husband is appling for permenent residence and i am a us citizen by birth. can we adopt in the us with out a problem

yes we are ready

well we have been married for 3years and I see no reason for him to be deported. Paper work for green card is going through. We do have a 2 year old already. we would like a 6 month old or younger with no handicapps. why would that matter?

would it be any diffrent for a privite adoption verses through an agency? what is really the diffrence between the two? Thank you so much for your help.
