I need some advice on this matter.
I was divorced in 1991 (live in NY state) and I was never ordered to pay support by the courts. I was giving my ex $50 a week voluntairily. In 1992 I stopped seeing my two boys, she brainwashed them into hating me and wanting me out of thier lives.Anyway, to make a long story short, she went on welfare in 1998 and I was ordered to pay support even though I hadn't had any contact what-so-ever since 1992.In August of 1998, I drew up an adoption consent form ,signed and had it notorized, giving my consent for her new husband to adopt my sons, which he wants to do.(I didn't know it had to be done by a lawyer)In 1999 I signed papers from her lawyer for the same consent. It's 2000 and I am still having most of my pay taken for support and (as far as I know) the adoption hasn't been done yet.
Is there anything I can do about this ?????
