Here is the situation. My husbank was previously married and divorced. He owes back child support. There is a court order for him to pay $175.00 ea. month. The District Attorney Office is deducting $100.00 ea. mo. from his pension, which leaves $75.00 outstanding ea. month. I was not aware of the total child support amount until recently. We purchased a home two years ago, I recently applied for a home equity loan. I was informed that there is a lien on the property by the District Attorney Office. My loan officer has told me that we needed to get a letter from them stating that the payments are being paid. My loan officer has tried to contact them on several occasions but not able to get a reply. He has Faxed a letter to them, placed phone calls only to be put into voice mail. They will not reply. My question is what are my options, what can I do since I am the injured spouce. This has gone on for over a month with no reply. Any suggestions?
