my x-wife has moved from state to state for the last 13 years to collect welfare assistance.
How do find out what my two boys have been on throughout these 13 years.
The reason I ask is that she currently moved to the state of Minnesota and filed again for assistance. This time, Minnesota feels that she must then need more child support too! Anyway, I have always paid support over and beyond what I had too! She has moved 4 times making it difficult to have a relationship with them.

Please let me know if anyone can help me!

If you are and have been paying child support, are they trying or have been collecting the monies they have paid to her back from you?

Is there a court ordered visitation schedule?

When was the last time you seen the boys? How old are they?

Actually, the divorce was in indiana, she moved from state to state, and then to Minnesota. Minnesota has a new thing where they can recommend changes with your current order and have a review done especially when you get assistance from their state. I guess it is called "Pass through" the way it works is when I send the support to them, they will send her the assistance. Medical and welfare. Anyway, my current order gives me visitation (summers, and every other weekend. But we now live 1700 miles apart, so I fly them out for summers and still pay support while they are here. The main thing is...she should not be on any kind of assistance! She screws the system but now it involves me! I am tired of hearing about what they just bought now!
I am trying to find out just what kind of assistance my boys have been on and why?

Are you providing medical insurance for the boys? If so, I would call public assistance there and tell them they have medical coverage and fax them a copy of the insurance card. I don't think they would give the boys medical assistance if you were providing coverage. It wouldn't hurt to call them and ask about what type of assistance the boys are recieving, since you have joint custody. You never know they might tell you.

They can only take a % of your income. There are web sites on child support guidelines. You can go in to these and calculate what you should actually be paying according to the state where your boys are living. They can and do re-evaluate your child support once every year to 3 yrs. depending on the state the children reside.

Also try making a post to IAAL to take a look at this post. This one is out of my league.

I do wish you the best.
