Unhappy

One year ago my twin boys turned 14 and decided they wanted to live with their dad. The last day of school, they moved in with their dad, their sister stayed with me. With the reversal of child support, my daughter and I had to move in with my parents as I now pay my ex child support. I had to find a new job as we moved 85 miles from my old job. While job hunting, my ex filed dead-beat parent on me, which took 4 months for the court system to file the arrest warrant. I spend 20 hours in jail, paid a $3500.00 bond, and was working and making the payments while this was going on. The court was to set a court date in which the bond was to be given back, yet nothing as happened. That was in October. What can be done to get this money back and have the charges dropped as I was working and making payments at the time I was arrested? The charges were filed three weeks after we were in court and the same week my daughter and I had to move. Any other moms in this position? Any ideas? Thanks!

Cool

Dear; Uh humm! Not sound like deadbeat. I read your posting and found you to be believable! But, believable isn't going to help much since in a lot of cases law isn't fair! Often I say "Fair only comes to town once a year, and we don't have tickets! So, No fair! What you might want to do is to check out your local legal aid society.... they offer low or no cost legal assistance and in your case that might be a good move!
I feel for you and hope that you may be able to live without this wrong in your life......
God speed; Perry Mason
