Null a marriage

I am a 22 year old who got stuck in a civil marriage with my ex who had said that we would be getting married socially in a couple of years. After about 4 months of our marriage he went back to his home country and got a student visa, now he's back, but things have changed between us. Could you please guide me as to how I can get rid of him without spending too much in California. I am told that california law takes up to one year for annulments, is there a faster way to do this than one year?? Also, I don't want anything from him, I just want him off my record so I can remarry when I chose to...PLEASE help me...any kindered spirit who can guide me will be blessed!
