I live in Hawaii and am being called in to court to determine Paternity. The State of Hawaii is filing a Complaint for Establishing Paternity. I know that I do not know this person that claims that I may be the father of her child and am willing to take a DNA/Genetic test to prove that should it come to that. The state is just calling me in because I am the only person in the state now with the name that the mother of the child could muster. My question is when this is all over, what is my chances of suing the state for money spent to go to this trial and for time lost and mental anguish during all of this (consulting lawyers, etc). Would it be worth say a $25 to 50,000 wrongful suit...? |
