I live in Pennsylvania and I've been told by a friend (also going through a divorce) that there is a new PA law that says a spouse's name can be "removed" from a mortgage without the mortgage having to be "refinanced". Can you point me in the direction of where I can read up and investigate what this law entails and if I qualify?
For 3 years I've been living in the house that is financed by a mortgage that is in both my and my spouse's name. We are separated and I have soley paid the mortgage these past 3 years. I'd rather not have to go through a refinance since there are fees and since mortgage rates are higher than what I am paying now. |
