| Okay, here's the deal. I'm in Georgia, my girlfriend's parents have forbidden me to see her, we're both juveniles, I want to go to the fair and meet her. The fair is a public place, so if we met there and were caught, is there anything that can legally be done to me as a result of us meeting? I know they can get a restraining order, but I'm pretty sure that without that, they can't touch me since it's a public place, I'm just not sure and this isn't something I want to mess around with and be wrong. Thanks. ------------------ You know, I love when cats think they're bigger than the sumo. That's when I hit 'em with a little Puerto Rican judo! |

| Well,i too once dated a boy that my mother didn't like and i did sneak around to see him. The fair is a public place as you said so if you two just "happened" to show up and see one another what could anyone do. As long as she isn't giving them any reason to suspect that the two of you are going to meet, then they won't know. I don't think they can do anything to you if they were to catch you b/c you are in a public place and you didn't kidnap her or harm her. In order for them to get a restraining order on you they would have to prove that you are of harm to them or their daughter.Usually, parents have a good reason for not wanting their son or daughter to date a certain person and sometimes they are right. Unless you have done something harmful to their daughter in the past, i wouldnt' worry about the legal issues. Just go to the fair, have fun and if you see her, great, that will make the night more fun! |
