Re: my fight to keep my "actress" 8 yr. old from moving to NY: Think I won round one today before (Florida)
commissioner. I represented myself and think I blew my ex-wifes rookie attorney away with my research (thanks to this forum/IAAL and others) She requested and received another hearing date (11/29) as she was "unprepared" for an evidenciary hearing. Their side had
received all paperwork properly and the commssioner was not happy about postponing the matter. My question regards the opposing attorney-- if I'm correct in thinking she was on a fishing expedition to
see what I was presenting but she took no notes can she easily obtain the audiotaped transcript of today's hearing or is that available only for appeals?

Yes she can ask that a copy of all court transcripts be given to her, of course she will have to pay for them and they aren't cheap!

Good job in defending your self, but you should get a reputable attorney to represent you in court. Continue to do your research and have the Atty present it in court.

You lucked out this time, but most of the time Judges like to see both sides with an atty, or both sides w/o attys. Her atty may pull a rabit out of his hat next time and catch yo off guard. Be careful!

Question

I wouldn't mind knowing where this cheap good attorney is myself. That's why I asked for more childsupport, because I lost my job & am not even getting the Ca. guidline amount to start with. How do you afford an attorney?
