My fiancee is in a situation with the mother of his daughter. He has paid his child support but has been late a couple of times but always caught up. We are in a different state than the child. He has a job and has the child listed under his insurance he tried to offer the mother the card plus a bank account for the child the mother refused both. She rather remain on medicaid for the child. I dont believe she could legally do that refuse insurance and stay on medicaid. Anyway now the state wants the father to repay for the time the mother was on welfare assistance because she was to lazy to get a job she lived with her parents unemployed for 4 years as an adult. I dont think he should have to pay for her laziness. It's like he has to pay alimony even though they were never married. He also tried to help her get in school so she could get a better job.
