IAAL,

I am going to be giving my child's school a note to put in the school records reserving my parental rights under CFC 7601, 7602. Who do I address the note to? The Principle? or anyone?

REASON; I am not getting any school information, newsletters, flyers, notices, etc. This is the letter I wrote to the teachers, etc.:

As you know, I have been requesting school information be sent to me (or another solution) so that I may be able to participate in school events. There has been no resolution to this matter thus far. As a result, I have missed out on some of these events. I am bothered at the lack of communication from both Child's father and the school. I expect to work out a viable solution to this problem before the next quarter begins.

I want to be a part of Child’s schooling and share in any and all events. Just as you expect students and parents to sit together at home to read and go thru homework, I expect to be included in Child’s education, school events, fieldtrips, etc. I reserve all my parental rights under C.F.C. §7601, 7602 to be a parent in every way to my daughter, including her education.

Unlike some parents, I want to have the ability to participate in any event my daughter is in. Without the knowledge of such events, how am I to become involved and further her education? It is exasperating for an eager parent to be disregarded while trying to work out a possible solution, so that I, Child’s Mother, can attend as many of these school functions as possible to show my support for my daughter. I would like to resolve this matter with you, as soon as possible, call me at (555) 555-5555.

You as her teachers and I as one of her parents should be able to work together. I am told that you both are exceptional teachers. I am pleased that Child has the opportunity to be in your class this year, but in order for me as her parent to contribute to her education as you expect, I need the necessary information to be able not only to show support for my daughter but also further her education.

Respectfully,

California Sun

Thank You for both your response and b-day wishes. I'm going to dinner with my hubby and my daughter, then Friday, we're going to see How the Grinch stole X-mas....
