I am in Texas. My husband and I separated (3 yrs ago) and our 4 children (12,14,16 &17) stayed with him. At the time he was living 3 roads away from where I have been staying since I left. I had been seeing my children every day until...About a yr. ago my ex-best friend moved in with him and things went BAD...I ended up with a restraining order from the girlfriend only, but he used that to keep me from my children since I cannot go near her, call her or have any other type of contact with her. He then moved away without letting me know where. I have not seen my kids since then because I have no idea where they are. There has not been any type of court order or action concerning custody but, I don't have money for a lawyer at this time.
Is this possibly considered a PARENTAL KIDNAPPING?? and what steps can I take to obtain my rights to see my kids. I am unemployed and going to college on financial aid, but live with someone and my other bills are taken care of. I have tried to get legal aid and have been denied because the person I live with makes too much money...but, I don't see why this person should be responsible for my legal expenses.
I am trying to find an alternative to expensive lawyer fees that I have no way to pay at this time. HELP!!!!
