I met with a lawyer for an initial consultation regarding a divorce. I really liked her and left a message with her office that I would like to have her represent me. They said they would prepare the contract and mail it to me. This was almost 2 weeks ago and I still haven't received anything. In the meantime my husband is picking the kids up from school whenever he wants (without me knowing ahead of time) and I am not receiving any temporary child support.
I have left 3 messages with my lawyer to call me and she has not returned the calls. Is this the norm or do you think I should hire another lawyer who would respond when I need him/her?
I want to get this going - there was some domestic violence on his (husband's) part so I have a retraining order against him and can't talk to him directly.
Thanks for any input!

Yes, get another attorney. No attorney should leave messages unresponded for more than 2 days max.

Also, inform the school that he is not to pick up the children without your permission. May or may not work. Apply for state aid if you need to, since he is not paying CS then the state will beat him once they start paying you.
