Question

I have an 11 yr old son from a previous marriage. My ex pays support( because they hold it out of his check) and carries medical insurance.
Here is the real problem: He never comes to see my 11 yr old. He came to see him Christmas 1999 and that was the first time in 2 yrs. My son wants his stepfather to adopt him so he doesn't have to see his real dad.
Does anyone have any suggestions on this???
Please help????
My state is OKlahoma

I believe that in order for your son to be adopted by your husband, the bio-father has to terminate his rights to your son. If he is willing, you have to go to an attorney, and go through adoption proceedings just like normal.

If your ex is unwilling to allow the adoption to take place, you are stuck with him and he is stuck paying support to you.
