Question

We've been married for 6 1/2 years and have 2 kids. We have agreed to do everything ourselves but she has gotten some legal advice from legal aid. Because of bills and other things....I am here asking for help. She claims that she can get full spousal support, but all she would like is for me to keep her on my medical insurance for 3 years. For one thing I don't think my group insurance will allow me to keep anyone else but my children....I get the feeling she is trying to bluff me because she knows I can't afford legal help right now. Also she has come up with an amount for child support that I have no way to verify. I am very prepared to pay whatever is required because I love my kids, but I would like to verify the amount that she has quoted me. The amount is $550 for 2 kids. I make ~$35,000 most of which goes to bills that have accumulated due to her mishandling of our funds.....I won't get into that. Could someone help me to calculate required child support and let me know whether I would be required to pay spousal support in Oregon. She has gotten a full time job and we will have joint custody with me having the kids 2 weekends a month some holidays, spring break, and as much other time I can spend with them. I would appreciate any help. I think this is a wonderful resource and anxiously await any reply I can get.

Thanks, trying to keep things fair in Oregon
