First of all, I'm in Ohio.
I was told (by a friend who is doing her own step-parent adoption process) that if paternity had not been established on a child, meaning as I understand it that no man has gone to the CSEA and filed a signed paper saying YES I am this childs father, that establishing paternity might be as easy as taking my fiance to sign a paper like this. Now while he is NOT the BIO-dad she told me they don't really care about that they see whoever signs a paternity paper as the legal, responsable father.
Has anyone ever heard of this? She also said once paternity has been established thru CSEA then we could take the paper to the courthouse and have his BC changed.
Thanks for any replys in advance ...
