| Considering divorce. Live in WI, my wife orignally from Illinois. If we divorce, what is the likelihood that she can move back to IL with the kids assuming we get joint custody? Also, she has a considerable inheritance coming. Would an anticipated inheritance be considered in determining alimony or only the assets at the time of divorce? If she gets it later, would alimony be "renegotiated" or is is set in stone? |

| Since she will be inheriting some money in the future, you feel that you are entitled to part of that? Is that what you are saying here? ------------------ *There is no love, like the unconditional love of a Mother* -I am not an Attorney, any advice given is strictly advice- [This message has been edited by MySonsMom (edited November 08, 2000).] |

| My guess is that how I feel about it is irrelevant to the law, but I don't feel entitled to anything. The question is whether, from a legal standpoint, future earnings (whether from an inheritance or otherwise) are considered in determination of alimony payment. Since my wife is currently a stay-at-home mom I assume I will pay alimony. What if she gets a job (or inheritance) in the future? Will my obligation decrease proportionally?
