Hello all you Legal Eagles!
Some help if you can...
I have a case that was disputed in Virginia that I need to move to Indiana, I hear from the court that I need to file a petition to register a foriegn order but of course I don't really know what that is. Does anyone have any advice on the subject or where I could go for help? I'm not willing to pay the attorneys the 1500.00 they say it will take.

Need more info please.. such as, what state are you now a resident of? What state was the original orders granted?
What state is the NCP a resident of?

As for registering a foreign order you should be able to just have the District Clerk in the state that it was granted submit to the District Clerk in the state that it needs to be registered in. Call the DC in the IN court that needs to be registered in to verify. You shouldnt have to hire an Attorney to do this.
