| my fiance and I been together for 8 years. We've been wanting to get married for years now but have one problem. We are unable to find his wife. He had papers drawn up a while ago and was told to serve her personally. All we know is that she lives in Sacramento County, CA. The only way we know this is that the Family Support Division is after him. They will not release the whereabouts of her actual location. We were also told that publication would work in the county where the person you are divorcing resides. But we have no clue what section of the paper, how to word it, and how long to publicize it for. I would really appreciate if someone could help. We have two kids together and we want another after we get married. We just want to be a complete family. |

You file your Petition for divorce in the County where you live. You obtain an Order from the court to publish the Petition in the last known State and area where she lived. On those Orders (it's a California form) has all of the directions and instructions for publication. But, you MUST file a proper Motion with the court FIRST, and obtain publication Orders from the court.
