| for the state of oklahoma: at what age can my son decide if he wants to have visitation with his father? we live in another state and he has not seen his father in 3 years. my son is 17 years old and is a junior in high school. his father has been paying $150.00 per month child support and i am in the process of having it raised. the father has now threatened to enforce his visitation rights (which he hasn't used or enforced in the past 13 years) but now that i am raising the child support he is threatening the visitation and possibly custody. my son does not wish to visit his father and absolutely does not want to live with his father. what are the chances of enforcing the visitation and does my son have to go? someone please answer************** |

| At that age, a judge will definitely take his feelings into consideration. Especially with your x's past. If you want to fulfill your son's wishes then I would not press or force him to visit his Father. If the Dad wants to pursue this visitation, let him take you to court. Have evidence of the non contact in the past years, and prepare your son to express his feelings to the judge. I don't think you have a lot to worry about. Good luck to you! ------------------ *There is no love, like the unconditional love of a Mother* -I am not an Attorney, any advice given is strictly advice- |
