| my daughter has 2 children by ex. he is in the military (air force) she has filed contempt of court charges against him because he refuses to let her see her girls. court date is set for june 15 (thursday) today is monday june 12 and she has just found out that he has been transferred out of Wyoming, the state that has jurisdiction right now. how long will Wyoming retain jurisdiction? she doesn't even know where he is moving to. her attorney said that if he does not show up in court, he will be found in contempt and they will have him arrested. what can be done if he has already left the state?????????? anybody with an answer---please help thanks |

| Wyoming will retain jurisdiction until a registration of a foreign divorce decree is filed in the new state in which the children will reside in. I'm not an att. but I'm going through a similar thing myself. Your divorce settlement should have something in there about him having to notify you within 24hrs of any change of address. Hope that helps a little bit. |

| You may want to check and see if Wyoming has adopted the Uniform Interstate Child Custody Jurisdiction Act which sets forth the guidelines for determining personal jurisdiction in these matters. |
