Hi, I am writing on behalf of a very dear friend of mine and a wonderful caretaker for my children.
My friend was accused of Child Abuse (Failure to Thrive). This is a very involve problem.. With no hope in sight.

We got Joan a 58 year old women, with a few medical problems of her own. she has raise her daughter on a very limited amount of money. Now her daughter who is 21 has a mental capacity of about 15 and lacks common sense. Were Joan lack reading, writing and explaining.
Then came Jessica, beautiful litter girl who came into this world without a clue. While Jessica is a lovable happy, very well taken care of littel girl, she can't seem to gain weight. This is the problem at hand.
Joan has taken care of Jessica the best way she can. Her daughter on the other had can not. They gave custody to Joan. Three months later without warning Jessica was taken, 7 months later a letter was finally given. Joan was brought up on charges. Saying that is was Joans fault that Jessica wasnt gaining weight. Joan had Jessica to the doctors 52 times in one year and in the hospital three weeks out of the year. They were told when Jessica was in the hospital not to visit but they did of course. And then the baby went home with her.
Its really a messed up case. Now they brought in a specialists on Failure to thrive and she said that Jessica should of never been taken from the home. Still nothing is being done. The daughter gets visitation about twice a week. But there not going so well. Joan doesnt get to see her grandaughter at all. Now its down to where the Children and youth , the Legal aid for Joan , and the Judge are all in the same building and we believe strongly that they are all in on this together. covering up for each other. Our problem is this we lack the money to hire a lawyer who is willing to help.
Is it possible to sue the Doctors for failure to inform Joan and Charlene that special things need to be done. They never said anything was wrong. Secondly the lawyers who did nothing to help. and the Children and Youth for false accusations. the rip this poor family apart. They laugh at Joan. Its so wrong she did nothing wrong but because she is naive and doesnt have the money. they take advantage of her.
Jessica only gained 7 lbs in a year and a half. and is on Pedisure. They neve told Joan or Charlene Jessica needed this but yet is still on it. We feel that the Case worker is in cahoots with the foster family for adoption. The case worker or whatever she is constantly ridicules Joan, Calling her names and having Doctors call Joan a loud mouth B---. We are at wits end .. I know that she could win this case the evidence is there but we cant find anyone willing to listen and work with us.
If I had the money for a good lawyer I would get one but I dont ..
If anyone needs to know more or could suggest some kind of help. It would be greatly appreciated. We gotten to the point we have said the heck with the lawyers and just put it in the news ...
Thanks
Tracy
