401K non payment

What is the name of your state...Massachusetts?

Good morning,

The company I was working for closed suddenly 5 years ago, they withheld roughly $8,000 for my 401K plan and of that they put in $4000. I was very friendly with the owners and they assured me that they would give me the money that was missing. Of course it has not been paid, so I called the DOR and the lady there told me the statute is running out and that she would call and see if she could get anything for me but there was not much hope??

Does that sound right, or is she just blowing me off because it is such a small amount??What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?

There isn't much hope. As in, basically, zilch. You waited WAY too long to address this with the DOL.

Thanks for the quick reply..

So because I was a nice guy and took them at face value I lose..and I have been working with the DOL (not the DOR as I said above).

Is it true that there is a statute of limitations?

Thank you

No good deed**************......I figured it was the DOL. Don't know; the person you talked to apparently thinks there is.
