California Paid Family Leave questionWhat is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? California (obviously) We've read on the state site that the amount used to determine amount paid if the highest quarter's earnings for the base period about a year or so prior. Yet my fiance's employer gave us a document with a link that said the pay is determined by the wages on the day before PFL starts. For us, this difference is substantial enough that, if it's the former, he can take time off after our baby's born. If it's the latter, he can only take off how much he has vacation for. (We moved seven weeks ago, and he got a new job that came with a pay cut.) Since two official links have given conflicting information, which is correct? We need to figure out soon how much to expect his PFL benefit to be to determine how much time he can take off. Thank you. |

| You should contact whatever organization is responsible for handling claims. They can give you the REAL answer.
