My friends employer has been taking payments from employee checks for Health Ins and 401k but these minies have not been used to pay for benefits or placed into 401k accounts since Aug 1. These employees have no insurance now - they werent told of it either - they found out when going to the doc or the pharmacy. He asked his emplyer abu these payments - they said"we are taking care of it" that was sept 1. Since then inquiries have been met with blame to everyone else but these benefits havent been reinstated. The co has approx 50 employees. He did ask for a refund -no response was given.

 Your friend should immediately contact the federal Department of Labor: 202-693-4650. If the employer has diverted employee health and 401(k) contributions into the general assets of the company, that's the sort of thing company presidents and CFO's go to jail for. Your friend may wish to quietly encourage his co-workers to also contact the DOL and file complaints as well.
