What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Florida
Although I'm enrolled in the correct health insurance plan, my employer failed to deduct the correct amount from my pay. They want me to pay back the difference of $3,000. Is this legal?

Yes, they can expect you to pay for the coverage you elected. Why hadn't you been paying attention to your pay stubs to see that the correct amount was not being deducted sooner?
