What happens to 401K is company goes out of business? What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Connecticut I have a 401K with my current employer. It is invested in mutual funds, nothing in the actual company itself. The company who manages it where I log in to view the balance is john han****. What happens if my employer goes out of business, I assume they can't touch my money? |

| No, the company will not be able to touch 401k funds. What will happen is that Han**** will send you information about various options to roll the money into. |
