In California is it better to go to court for child support or is it better to go through District Attorneys Office?

I don't think you can just go to the DA's office and have them do all the work for you. They will collect on existing orders, but not establish one for you. That you have to do yourself.

Either get a lawyer or go the the Family Law Facilitators office in your county for more information on how to establish CS orders.

Good Luck
