We go back to court tomorrow, the judge gave my daughter two wks to move out in order for me to get custody. The dyfs case worker told me that there are procedures they have to follow before my grandaughter can come home. Does anyone know what procedures? Dyfs doesn't want me to have custody either. The woman who did the initial investigation was very sneaky and lied to the judge. Dyfs was looking for any little detail that she could find in order to take the child away from us. First of all,the childs father is the one who called dyfs on us. He said he did it because he saw a picture my daughter posted on facebook of another man giving the child a piggyback ride and he freaked out. Everything he said about us to dyfs was all lies, except the part about my daughter using drugs, and he knew this was true cause he was injecting her with the drugs. How does someone fight these lies? Im sure there are alot of spouses who will call dyfs just to retaliate against the other spouse. We have been to court three times already and he has not showed up at any of the hearing. Dyfs is trying to say the child was abused and neglected by my daughter. How can we fight all the accusations that are not true? My grandaughter is only 3 yrs old and was tramatized when the woman called the cops to escort her and the child out of my home. I wish I had the money to get a good lawyer, cause I would sue dyfs. The child was only in foster care for three wks but since this happened she continueously stutters, which she never did before. My girlfriend filed for custody and the judge granted it but she had to wave all rights for any kind of assistance by the state in order for dyfs to bring the child to her house, the same day of the hearing. Now im wondereding what procedures dyfs has to follow when I get custody?
I dont want dyfs to bring her to my house and put her through that again. I want to pick her up myself, but someone told me, that they might take her for another physical before they bring her to me. Does anyone know what procedures dyfs has to follow. He did come here today to see where she will be sleeping and he checked my refridgerator to see if I had plenty of food, he also wanted to see if she has clothes and he checked to see if I had hot water. I think he wanted to see if my daughter had moved out already. He also went to the address she gave him but no one anxwered the door. My daughter is only allowed to see her child with dyfs supervising. How long do they usually keep a case open? Does anyone know? Any advise would be greatly appreciated. Thanks GenWhat is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?

Yes. There are two steps:

1. Ask dyfs what procedures they want you to follow.
2. Follow them.

How would anyone here possibly know what your dyfs case worker wants you to do?
