Daughter has drug problems has bean in and out of recovery and at the present time is using. Mom does not aprove of her actions but just wants to be in grandaughters life. Mom has bean in grandaughters life since she was born. Christmass was the big blowoff when daughter smoked pot on our front deck.

What did the police say when you called them on Christmas day?

Why would you have to leave if she was smoking weed at your home (since you said she was smoking on *your* front deck)? That makes no sense.

sory missunderstanding it was the next day we went over to her house to pick up grandaughter. she would not leus have her. We screwed up by not calling the cops on christmass when she got in the car to drive.

Translation, they didn't call the police on their daughter smoking pot on Christmas day.

The next day, they demanded to see the grandchild but were denied. THEN grandma and grandpa called the cops and reported that the day before their daughter had smoked pot.

And the cops, rightly, got out of there as quickly as possible.

You had better hope that they don't actually follow through on that. Your daughter will blame it on you and make sure that you never see your granddaughter again.

Basically, you went to your daughter's home, demanded her child, and when she refused to give the child to you, you called the cops?

Do you not see what an extremely poor strategy that was?

she called the cops we did not.
You have NO RIGHTS to your granddaughter. NONE. Do not expect to have ANY relationship with said child ever again. And how is the marijuana use negatively affecting the grandchild? Does she not have food, shelter and medical care to the minimal required standards?
