Great Grandparenr Visitation?

Can a great grandparent be granted grandparent visitation rights in the state of Kansas? Also, does the petition need to be filed in the county the child resides in if it differs from the county the great grandparent resides in?

Thank you for that information, however, it mentions nothing regarding great grandparents seeking visitation.

I'm not sure that there IS anything allowing great-grandparents to seek visitation based solely on the fact that they are great grandparents. I would suggest that you consult with an attorney in the same county that the child resides in.

Any third party suing the parents of a child for visitation with said child is regarded as an extremely hostile act by the parents. Are you really sure that you want to destroy family relationships to that extent? Is there no way that you can see the child when other relatives are seeing the child? Do you really need your own separate time?

Its extremely difficult to win a third party visitation suit. They are very expensive and if you cannot prove that irreparable harm will come to the child unless you are given court ordered visitation, you WILL lose the case...and with that, any hope of the parents EVER allowing you to see the child.

Take it from LD. Seriously. She knows of what she speaks about how hostile this is -- that is NOT meant to sound negative towards you, LD. And those of us seniors know that she walks the walk with this.
