What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Texas
My grandson is about to turn 3. I have not seen him since his 1st birthday because my son (his father) won't use his joint custody rights and go and get him. My grandson's mother has moved several times and will not tell my son or myself where she is living. I have asked her several times (thru e-mails and text messages...she won't accept my phone calls) if I could come to see my grandson. She always has some excuse, and has never let me. Although, I have told her I could come anytime, anywhere, I would bring lunch or take them both out to lunch, anything! I just want to see him! I have to send his gifts for Christmas, Valentines Day, Easter, etc. to his mother's boyfriend's parents house. I even send gifts for her boyfriend's child (who lives with them) and their other child together, hoping to soften her heart towards me and let me see my grandson...to no avail. My son has not been consistent with his child support, even though I "nag" him about it. Now, my grandson's mother is threatening to take my son to court to get his joint custody rights cancelled. Can I get grandparents visitation rights if my son's rights are cancelled? Or if he voluntarily signs over his rights?

Although I really sympathize with your situation, it is very doubtful that you would win a GPV case. You don't have a relationship with the child.

A GPV case cost a LOT of money...A better way to spend that money would be to help your son pay off his arrears and enforce his visitation rights.

"Yes...I did!"
"Did you learn any interesting facts about the animals on the movie (Nation Geographic)?"
"Yes...I did learn interesting things!"
"Would you share with me an interesting fact?"
"Wellll....I learned that Naked Mole Rats are WICKED naked!"
