| Ambulance charges What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Florida
My daughter is 21 mo. old and may have ingested her grandmas blood pressure meds. Her grandma took her to the emer. room where they evaluated her. By the time I could arrive, I live an hour away, the doctor at the emer. room said that he had already called an ambulance from a hospital an hour away (other direction) and that they were coming to pick her up. They said that they needed to transfer her as they did not have a pediatric sergeon on call and that if something did happen that they could not treat her. He also said that the ambulance was already on the way & that she had to be transported so they could monitor her bood pressure on the way. Over 2 hours later, the ambulance arrived and took her to the other hospital. The hospital was 40-45 miles away and the ambulance charged was over $4600. Is there anything I can do to dispute the high charges? What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? |
