COBRA Payment & ClaimsWhat is the name of your state? California I am within the 60 day period for electing COBRA coverage, but have not elected it yet, nor have I paid the premium yet. If I were to have a medical emergency tomorrow, if I subsequently elected COBRA coverage and paid the premium, would I be covered? Thanks! |

| Yes. COBRA MUST be retroactive to the day coverage was cancelled. However, you would need to make both the election and the premium payment within the time frames allowed by law. There would be no grace period. |
