cobra pre-authorization and terminated coverageOur Cobra payments were paid automatically from our checking account Somehow, I must have canceled the automatic payment as the last one was in March. When I spoke with Cobra, they said we were terminated as of April 1 due to non-payment. My husband had a colonoscopy performed in May as well as an orthopedic office visit. Both doctors and the hospital outpatient were paid as my husband was pre-authorized for all visits, procedures. (Obviously, had the pre-authorization not been approved, he would not have had the colonoscopy) Since there were pre-authorizations, can they rescind the payments? |

| The preauthorization assumes that coverage will be in place at the time of the procedure. Under NO circumstances does any law require that your insurance pay for a procedure that takes place on a day when the coverage has already been cancelled. |
